"Much Ado About Nothing" by William Shakespeare
Location:
Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington, DC
This trip was truly one to remember, as the library felt like a Shakespearean dream. From the moment I approached the entry doors, I was captivated; they exuded a sense of royalty that set the tone for my visit. The library is massive, featuring a variety of rooms, including a real theater and exhibits on Shakespearean clothing.
Sadly, photography was not permitted in the theater or near the novels due to the potential effects of camera flashes on the materials. Nevertheless, I managed to snap some pictures of the exterior. My favorite part of the library was the theater; it allowed me to envision what an actual theater in London might look like without having to travel there.
Unfortunately, on the day of my visit, the main library was closed, and only the museum section, which houses Shakespeare's First Folio, was open. Overall, the Folger Shakespeare Library was an experience for the books, and I look forward to returning one day to request their oldest edition of Much Ado About Nothing.
